"Music and sleep, two great ways to escape from everything."

"Well, it’s funny. That song was one of the first songs we worked on. Rostam sent me the music for it, probably before we were even done with “Contra”. I’d listen to it over the years and start writing something on top. He already had the piano, the drums were very different. We already had the piano chords, and that’s kind of all we needed to get going. And it kind of took the form of this kind of like advice to somebody. And I always had a feeling that it ought to be track one. And I was trying to think: Why did I always think it should be track one? And maybe it is because it has that feeling. I realized the first word in it is “morning”. So, the first word on the whole album is morning. It’s a sense of beginning and telling somebody: “Yeah, get up and go. Like leave this situation. Nothing’s going to happen for you here, like go do your thing.” And it kind of felt like the right note to start on."

"Before you know it it’s 3 am and you’re 80 years old and you can’t remember what it was like to have 20 year old thoughts or a 10 year old heart."
